Micro 48: Chinese Ophthalmology

This class will provide practical content on both Theory and Clinical applications for treating common ophthalmic conditions. The goal is to teach students how to think critically and create individual treatment plans for patients diagnosed with a variety of ocular conditions such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and retinitis pigmentosa.


Dr. Rosenfarb will cover 5-Wheel theory, western anatomy and physiology, western and Chinese medical etiology, vision testing, treatment principles, and strategies for common eye diseases. Also covered will be supplements, Chinese herbs, diet, exercise, genetics, epigenetics, and lifestyle factors that impact vision.
